By Sherrie Thompson Your Wedding programs are very popular in today's weddings. They provide guests with an itinerary of the ceremony and are a good way to identify and honor the wedding participants. They are useful in explaining the meaning behind the symbols used in the ceremony and provide a lasting keepsake of your special day. While wedding programs are not an absolute necessity, the personal touch they provide make them a good addition to your wedding ceremony. In choosing a wedding program it is important to point out that they can be as simple or complex as you desire. You may have them professionally printed, or you may opt to make them yourself. Whatever your choice, you have many options available to you, making it very easy to have a program that fits both your style and your personality. Professionally Printed or DIY (Do-it-Yourself)? Professionally printed wedding programs can be the most hassle free way to go. They can be ordered at the time you order your wedding invitations. (In fact, many stationers offer discounts to brides who order multiple items.) You may find this to be the perfect time to order all your imprinted items such as invitations, programs, napkins, matches, etc. You will have taken care of several tasks at once, while possibly even saving money. Another advantage to professionally printed programs is the variety of styles from which to choose. You may design your own cover or personalize a stock program. Your stationer can assist you in making this choice. Many brides choose to make their own programs using any the many software packages available for home publishing. While making your own programs can add to the ever growing "Wedding To Do List," you may find this to be a fun way to express your own unique creativity. As with professionally printed programs, there are several papers from which to choose to print your programs. Just remember to allow an adequate amount of time for proofreading before printing out the final version. Whether a wedding program is professionally printed or self-made, the creative possibilities are virtually endless. You may use a single page program printed on heavy card stock with a decorative edge or have a multiple page program that resembles a book when folded and secured with a tassel or ribbon. Another popular style is the scroll type program. This type of wedding program is printed on heavy card stock, rolled to look like a scroll (hence, the name), and secured with either a ribbon or a decorative metal band. Each style is perfectly acceptable and provides your guests with a souvenir of the day and a guide to the ceremony. View both professional programs and blank program paper at http://www.WhereBridesGo.com When to Distribute? Wedding programs are handed out as your guests are seated. This gives your guests an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the upcoming ceremony. What to Include? The information included in your wedding program is entirely up to you. However, a few things to consider including in addition to the date, time, and location of the wedding are the names and relationships of the participants to the bridal party. Letting your guests know that your maid of honor is also your oldest and dearest friend is a good way to help them feel connected to the bridal party. Many brides also include the order of the service-including the readings and musical selections-as well as the names of the readers and musicians. If the wedding crosses different religious or cultural boundaries, the wedding program is the perfect place to explain the different traditions and symbols involved in the ceremony. Many couples also include printed versions of their marriage vows, a special poem, or directions to the wedding reception. No matter the design or what information is included, the program you choose will be as unique as the two of you. Remember, while a wedding program is not an absolute necessity, it keep your guests informed and involved and is a lasting memento of your special day. Las Vegas Hotel Weddings
By Kevin Stith "Las Vegas hotel weddings give you tons of options. You can pick your setting from the minimal downtown hotels to the lavish hotels on the strip; pick your city from Venice to Paris, from Monte Carlo to good old New York; and pick your style from tuxedoed, buttoned down formal to tie dyed, long haired sixties radical. From champagne to sparkling apple juice, from Pirates of the Caribbean to exploding volcanoes, pick your favorite hotel and youve only just begun to discover the boundless enthusiasm and creativity that is the trademark of a Las Vegas hotel wedding. Got lots of kids in the family rent the arcade at the Luxor and watch the kids go wild for hours and hours. Have lots of romantic couples in the group rent the gondolas at the Venetian after the ceremony and youll glow with pride as everyone glides through the canals of Venice. Want to dance like a maniac all night long? Youll find discos like youve never seen before in the hotels on the strip. Looking for more spice in your party? If youre not the jealous type, try some of the gentlemens clubs around the city some of which are inside the major hotels and all of which would be more than happy to make private arrangements with your group. Any type of pleasure, all types of entertainment, an unstoppable flow of the best food and drink in the world, and an ambiance sure to please these can all be found at any of the wonderful hotels in Las Vegas. All you have to do is check them out, talk to the Concierge about what is available at each hotel and then you merely have to decide which is the right place for you and your beloved to share. 3G Wireless Communication Systems
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=John_Dulaney]John Dulaney The activities in Research and Design (R&D) have always brought out new innovations, and it brought forth the development of the future generation of wireless systems. The third generation (3G) of mobile telephony promises to provide significant features, in higher data rates, up to about 2Mbits/second, teleconferencing with video transmission, web browsing, etc. With IMT-2000 standarisation, 3G mobile systems provide full roaming feature, allowing integration with GSM systems. The International Mobile Telecommunications-2000 (IMT-2000) is a global standard, defining the parameters, specifications and recommendations for the third generation mobile technology. A framework for access of the 3G system, linking the diverse land based, wireless and satellite systems, is provided in IMT-2000. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is involved in 3G systems since 1998 and its role in this work of analysis and modeling of more advanced systems, in collaboration with Wireless Communication Technologies Group (WCTG), will be an ongoing process and will not stop at the 3G systems. The objective of NIST is to play an important role in future development of wireless communication systems, mainly contributing in - Developing software test methods to aid the R&D of future wireless communication systems.
- Evaluating the performance of various wireless communication systems technologies.
- Developing new, improved technologies and methodologies in wireless communication systems.
- To make significant contribution in improving the national and international standards in wireless communication systems. The third generation (3G) wireless communication was primarily developed to provide high-speed data connectivity to cellular phone users. The technology was conceived far back in the early stages of the internet boom, when it was thought that there was a need to establish a feature to provide the cellular phone users the facility to access data and multimedia services at a suitable rate. In many countries in the world, the required spectrum was auctioned to the different service providers for fees ranging in millions of dollars. IMT-2000 defines 3G as a wireless communication system, which provides data rates from 144kbps to greater than 2Mbps, which depend on the speed of the cell phone. The definition has been created by International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and is referred to as International Mobile Telecommunications 2000 (IMT-2000). There are ofcourse a number of technologies which could fulfill the features of the 3G system, with variations in the existing GSM 2G technology and this modification, or enhancement on 2G, is often referred to as 2.5G. This enhancement has brought in General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) and Enhanced Data Rates for GSM Evolution (EDGE) in the 2G system, with CDMAone (IS95a) systems defining a number of evolutionary technologies, which are grouped and classified under CDMA2000. Very briefly, CDMAone is a description of the entire wireless system based on TIA/EIA IS-95 (Telecommunications Industry Association / Electronic Industries Association Interim Standard - 95), which was first published in July 1993. CDMA2000 describes the family of 3G wireless communication systems, which uses Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA), which is a multiple access system for digital radio to transmit voice, data and signalling data, such as, a dialed telephone number, between cellular systems and base stations. There exists confusion as to the difference between the 3G and 2.5G systems. Though most of the CDMA2000 systems are technically modifications of the existing 2G architecture, they are being offered as 3G systems in the market. The GSM on the other hand, though capable of 3G performances, are being are being classified as 2.5G systems. The new standard was brought into the GSM 2G systems, classifying it as 2.5G, mainly to fulfill the 3G requirements, while the original 3G system uses an entirely different technology to achieve the same. This extension of the 2G system to 2,5G is called the Wideband-CDMA (W-CDMA), a technology used for transmission of data and voice. There are efforts going on to deliver more global standard advanced services out of the CDMAone technology, which is basically the GSM 2G system. This will enable the market to provide services as the market demands. The efforts of CDMA Development Group (CDG) is leading to complete capabilities of the 3G systems and is now concentrating aggressively enable fast-track development of the CDMA2000, one of them being the 3G standard. The GPRS services provided by 2G systems is similar to that serviced by 3G, but the 3G data services are a next step up from the GPRS services that we know of. The main difference is the faster data transfer rates that are available in 3G systems, offering up to 384 kilobits per second, which is 7 times faster than the standard dial-up systems. With 3G systems, you can achieve everything that you want to do, but in a much better way, a lot faster and from anywhere. The main advantage with 3G wireless communication system is that you can have a large call volume and it provides you with the support of multimedia data applications such as video and photography. The 3G system has brought about a good many advantage in the application of wireless communication system and some of the main features include - Video Calling - While calling someone, you can see the person on the other side in real time. As long as both the phones are 3G supported, you need not have to imagine, how your caller or the person you called looks like as you can see him on your cell phone screen as you converse. - Obtaining Information and News - You can search for Information and News from the internet, using your phone as a modem with your PC or laptop. You are able to use your favourite search engines to find the information that you are looking for, the daily news, stocks and shares, or practically any other information for you to keep yourself updated. - E-Mail - While you are out from your office, there may be occasions when you want to send a e-mail message to your business associate or to anyone else for that matter. You can use your cell phone and directly send such e-mails. You may also look into your inbox to find out if you have any important e-mail. The 3G-enabled cell phone can also be used as a modem with your laptop or connected to your PDA. - Games - Since the time mobile telephony has come into the market, games has always featured to be of great interest to cell phone users. Games have become more interactive and would still improve with the advancement of technology. For those who play these games on the cell phone for recreation purposes or for passing time, they would benefit more from 3G system, which enables downloading of these games at anytime from almost anywhere. - Film - The quality of film over mobile system is greatly enhanced by the speed and video quality of the 3G system. It is now possible for you to view the trailers, film reviews and interviews relating to various films. You can also download mp3 music, wall papers and enter into competitions by means of your 3G-enabled cell phone. - Sport - With enhanced graphic capability, you can now watch highlights of the sports that interests you and also have access to the scorecards of the sports that you are interested in. - Music - the 3G system allows you to download various music streams, videos and interviews. It lets you compose your own ring tone through your cell phone keyboard. The necessity of having a website has become imperative, as much as, that if a company does not have one website, it is as good as the company not existing. With the introduction of 3G systems, this has become truer, and you can gain access the internet from your 3G-enabled cell phone at anytime, from practically anywhere. Cell phone use overseas. In 99% of the world the local cellular service standard is called GSM. We use this in the states as well. When combined with a SIM CARD (which usually goes under the battery of the phone) the phone is able to communicate and the SIM CARD also holds the telephone number and memory for pre-paid credit. Rates can be extremely low using this system. For example in 99% of all SIM CARDS incoming calls are free and calls to the states can cost a trifle. Is Dating Stressing You Out?
By Obi Williams It's certainly normal to be anxious and even concerned about the dating process. Very few people generally want to go through the process required to find the person theyre looking for. With so many potential things on the line (spouse, family, home, etc), its easy to see why some people become nervous, or even overly anxious about dating. Stop and think for a moment. A bad date is not the end of the world and a good date does not necessarily mean the start of a beautiful relationship. Many successful marriages started out with a bad date, and many beautiful dates have ended in unfilled marriages. Always keep those things in perspective. In order to unleash yourself from the anxiety of dating try some of these successful techniques before you go off on the date. Relax Relax and remember that it is after all, just a date. Listen to a MP3 or your favorite CD, read a book, and/or watch your favorite TV program. Do things that get your mind off your date so youll be relaxed when the date begins. Ultimately, if youve done your dating due diligence, few things can be gained or lost from one date. History is filled with couples who've been happily married even when the first date was disastrous for one or both parties. History is also equally filled with stories of people whose first dates went like a fairy tale; and marriages ended in a disaster. Bad things happen to both good and bad people. If the date didnt go as you envisioned it would, look back on the role you played (or didnt play) and see if another date is warranted, or if it really was a disaster. Let your confidence show Both men and women are attracted to confidence. Let your confidence and not your (over confidence) arrogance. There is distinct difference between confidence and arrogance. Arrogance is displaced confidence; dont allow your self assuredness to go to you or your dates head. Know in yourself that no matter where you are going, or what youll be doing, you can contribute equally and will be able to hold up your end of the conversation and be the equal to the person which you are dating. This confidence will shine in you and be seen by not just your date, but also by other people Get organized Organization is a great trait to have when preparing for dates. Good organizational skills will make sure that you're not running around at the last minute checking on things here, there, and everywhere. Start your pre-date by organizing everything for the date early enough where you are not running out of time, or running behind schedule. Assure yourself that enough time to get ready for the date by knowing how long it takes you to get ready for an evening out. Check that the clothes you want to wear are clean and pressed. If meeting at someplace other than your house, make sure that you know the directions to the venue where you will meet at, and check for alternative routes in case of an emergency. If you date is coming to pick you up, make sure that they know the best directions to get to your house and exchange appropriate contact information like mobile phones. Have fun If the date is not going the way you wanted it to go or the person you're with is not the person whom you thought they were, nothing should stop you from enjoying the date that youre on. Missteps and bad judgments happen, and dating disasters are always a spilled drink away; however dont let a dating faux pas ruin your date. Every date you go on is a practice in the process that you go through until youre with the right person at the right time, doing all the things both of you love to do. Don't be a stick in the mud if things aren't going your way. If life serves you a lemon of a date, you be the sugar and enjoy the lemonade. America Calls for the Head of John the Baptist
By Michael Bresciani The story is well known. Herod Antipas was a son of Herod the Great. He was frivolous and wicked beyond imagination. He was part and parcel to every kind of sexual and immoral behavior of his day. Above all he was the murderer of John the Baptist. The unique thing about his crime was the motive. Herod was illegally married to his half brothers wife. No one but John the Baptist dared to call him out on his indiscretion and it cost John everything including his freedom and his life. Ironically not only did John lose his life for noting Herods sexual escapades but sex was the catalyst used to actually secure his death. When the daughter of his illegal wife performed a sexually driven dance for him he was so pleased with her that he promised her everything but the moon. All she wanted was the head of John. In todays society getting your own under age daughter to dance for your husband (her stepfather) would be a crime and child abuse. Add to the child abuse a malicious murder of a man of God as its reward and you now have what can be called one of the most heinous crimes in the annuls of history. It was a sexually driven crime against both a man of God and the very Kingdom of God. In the worlds eyes John was just a disheveled old prophet hanging out in animal skins and eating bugs while he pounded on the conscience of everyone from the common Israelite to the High Priests of the temple. His message was singularrepent! Many of that crowd would be sure not to miss John that much. Little has changed since then. To Jesus John was far more than an old coot bugging the neighborhood and the religious constabulary. His view of John the Baptist puts John on the very top of the heap. In fact he was the best of the best. Christ said Herod killed one of the highest not one of the lowest men that has ever graced society in any age. See below. And as they departed, Jesus began to say unto the multitudes concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind? But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? behold, they that wear soft clothing are in kings' houses. But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? yea, I say unto you, and more than a prophet. For this is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee. Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. Matthew 11: 7-11 Would America kill the prophets or John the Baptist if they were alive today? You wouldnt want to know the odds on that bet. Already there are those calling for the heads of many of our preachers, evangelists and prophets for saying what they must say. What seemed like only what they were supposed to say is now coming under scrutiny more and more for the religious leaders of America today. Why is America suddenly so surprised by preachers saying homosexuality is sin, after centuries of preaching that message so consistently. Could it be that God was serious when he said he doesnt change or that his Son is the very Rock of Ages? We might want to ask ourselves the all important question of who wants a wishy washy God anyway? If God said homosexuality was an abomination to him did he change his mind? Why dont we let him answer for himself? For I am the LORD, I change not; Mal 3:6 So bible preachers preach from the bible, so what. Do Shakespearian actors do recitals from episodes of Beavis and Butthead? What should you expect? All the hearer has to do is decide whether they believe the preacher or not. But as the times change It seems even hearing the message is too much for some. A decade or so ago it was enough to say well everybody is doing it. The worst behavior was thought to have filtered upward to a better status if it became popular. Preachers were quick to remind people that God said that behavior that was widely accepted among men could be an abomination to him, Luke 16:15. And that it was a sin to follow a crowd (peer group) to do an evil thing rather than a way of elevating bad behavior to an acceptable status, Exodus 23:2 America is going far beyond simple popularization of sinful behavior but is now moving things up to the next level. That level is to go to the law and persuade some to even rethink the meaning of our countrys constitution, general laws and our founding principles. Recently outspoken and openly gay singer Elton John was quoted for saying that religion has always tried to turn hatred towards gay people? He concludes that the way around this dastardly malady is to ban religion completely. I dont know about Elton John but over the last 35 years of my Christian walk I have heard preachers repeatedly say we must only hate the sin but never hate the sinner. Yes, that means that we must love the homosexual person but we do not ever have to love or accept his behavior. Gay activists are working in every state to change laws on sodomy and other behavior. Hardly any of them would disagree that no society can successfully legislate morality. Yet while they know this they are lobbying to bring in legislation that will mandate immorality. Called by any other name this is still claptrap. Those who call upon the legislators to support their particular brand of immorality have a need to review history. Nations did not reach heights of enlightenment when they became collectively licentious. Rather they fell from view either violently or whimpering off into the past with a diminished legacy that is better forgotten. Check out ancient Israel, Egypt, Babylon, Persia, Greece, and Rome and on and on. When sexual licentiousness and homosexuality were at their peak those nations and kingdoms were falling headlong to their end. Im guessing here but Im pretty sure that Americans are most noted for saying that those who forget history are doomed to repeat it. Im not guessing that this is a saying we are not taking very seriously. Will America begin to call for the heads of its outspoken and faithful preachers and prophets? They have already begun to ask for their tongues to be silenced. The tongue cannot get any closer to the head. Too Many Maybes
By Nan S. Russell Workplace decision-making often reminds me of a "Peanuts" comic strip I saw where Lucy and Charlie Brown were discussing their New Year's resolutions. "I'm going to be a changed person next year," Charlie tells Lucy. "That's a laugh," Lucy replies. "You'll be wishy-washy." "Well," Charlie says defensively, "One day I'll be wishy and the next washy." I once worked for a boss who was a master of Charlie Brown decision making. One day she'd give a "definite maybe;" the next an "indefinite perhaps." But most of the time, it was "I'll think about it and get back to you." Of course, she never did and no amount of follow-up produced an answer. I came to realize there was a black hole in her desk where decision requests were put. Usually time ran out on the issue, the opportunity passed or no-decision was rendered. Her staff felt thwarted and frustrated. Later I discovered it was just as frustrating to work with as to work for these wishy-washy maybe-people. Intertwined projects, assistance or information needed from other departments, and common company goals, mean dependence on others to accomplish our work responsibilities. Having to deal with indecisive maybe-people in a critical role or on a team means stalled progress. Maybe they're afraid to make a decision; maybe they're lazy; maybe they're overwhelmed; maybe they're incompetent; maybe they can't decide. Whatever the reason, results are reduced. Like the Scottish proverb says, "Maybe's a big book." So if you want to be winning at working, it's a book you don't want to read or to use. At least not for long. It's one thing to use think-time to make the best decision you can and another to let a decision happen by default because you never got around to making your own. In twenty years in management I learned it's better to hear a quick "no" and move on to other options, projects, or opportunities than wander in the land-of-maybe where little can be accomplished. In many workplaces "maybe" has become the diplomatic, politically correct way to say "no." So, the sooner you decide if that applies to your situation, the sooner you can move to plan B and get results. However, the problem with too many maybes is not limited to those we need decisions from. We're all decision makers no matter our role. There are teammates, clients, customers, family or friends you owe information to, responses to, decisions to. The difference in how you decide will leave its mark. Gordon Graham puts it this way, "Decision is a sharp knife that cuts clean and straight; indecision, a dull one that hacks and tears and leaves ragged edges behind it." Want to be winning at working? Cut clean. Be decisive. (c) 2005 Nan S. Russell. All rights reserved. Sign up to receive Nan's free biweekly eColumn at http://www.winningatworking.com.
